The optical measurement test cell is equipped with a Constant Volume Chamber (CVC) of 4 L capacity designed for ignition system development. The optical setup incorporates a Fastcam Nova S12 high-speed camera, a spectrometer with an Intensified CCD camera for species measurements, and a system for Two-Photon Absorption Laser-Induced Fluorescence (TALIF) studies.

The test cell control system consists of four integrated subsystems:

  • Utility Control

  • PID control system for heaters, valves, and the gas mixer used for air–fuel mixture preparation

  • Data Acquisition (DAQ) system using National Instruments LabVIEW

  • ECE Engine Control Electronics GmbH ECU-CR.8

  • Safety System
