Professor Xinyan Wang is currently a Professor at the Centre of Advanced Powertrain and Fuels, Brunel University of London, UK. He was awarded the prestigious UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Future Leaders Fellowship Programme in 2020.

He is leading a research group on advanced combustion concepts and novel engines with low carbon and zero carbon fuels. In the past five years, as the Principal Investigator (PI), he has received over 7 million pounds of research funding and published over 70 papers in international journals and conferences.

He is Associate Principal Editor of Fuel (Elsevier), Associate Editor of Journal of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering, editorial board member of Green Energy and Resources, editorial board member of Highlights of Vehicles, and a guest editor of MDPI Sustainability, Frontiers in Thermal Engineering and Frontiers in Energy Research.

Professor Wang is currently the member of the Peer Review College for the UKRI Talent Peer Review College, associate member of the Peer Review College for the UK Engineering and Natural Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), committee member of Hydrogen Europe Research (HER), British Standards Institution (BSI) committee member on LBI/50 Fine Bubble Technology (FBT).
